Put it in a tree, on a pole or on a tower, run one outdoor network cable to it, and your area has a Magic Mesh station that reaches far past any handheld. It does two jobs in one box. It repeats for MeshCore and Meshtastic. And it is your Magic Mesh Global gateway: over that same cable it ties every Magic Mesh radio it hears to every other Magic Mesh place, so you need no separate gateway at home. It tells you how it is doing too, all from Magic PTT, without climbing anything.

All sales are final. If your radio arrives dead, tell us within 30 days and return it to us; the return postage is yours. We examine it when it arrives and send a replacement. Drops, water and wear are not covered.

- A white lid, alwaysIn hot sun a dark lid soaks up heat and cooks what is inside; white keeps the station far cooler. In a hot climate white is a must, so every Lookout lid is white and your colour goes on the lettering or the bird-house trim.
- Bring your own cableThe outdoor network cable is not included: buy the length your site needs. Outdoor-rated, solid-copper Cat6 is the one to get.
- A year of Magic PTT membershipThe first year of Magic PTT membership is included, from the day it ships; then $24 a year or $2.99 a month. The Lookout is managed from Magic PTT, and Magic Mesh Global runs through it.

A repeater and a gateway in one box
- MeshCore: a full repeater on your regional network. It passes along channel messages, private messages and their receipts, and announces itself so the network's maps can list it.
- Meshtastic: it passes Meshtastic traffic along as well.
- Magic Mesh Global: the Lookout is the gateway. Every Magic Mesh radio it hears is tied, over its cable and Magic PTT, to every other Magic Mesh station and radio, wherever they are. No separate gateway board, no computer left running at home: the Lookout does that job itself.
- You choose which network comes first when the air is busy.
One cable, no solar panel, no battery
- Power and data both come up one outdoor network cable from your router. The PoE injector is in the box.
- No panel to aim, no battery to wear out, and the cable is also its link to Magic Mesh Global, so it needs no Wi-Fi at the top of the tree.
Managed from the ground
- From Magic PTT: rename it, set its transmit power, and announce it to the whole network with one press. Its repeater comes switched on.
- Look around: see which radios hear it and how well.
- New firmware arrives over the cable. Every update is signed and checked before anything is written, and if a new version does not check back in, the station goes back to the one before by itself.
It looks after itself
- A fan under its own control: it starts when the station warms past 50 °C inside and stops again below 40 °C, or you set it always on or always off from Magic PTT.
- A weather sensor inside: temperature, humidity and air pressure, read every minute. You see the heat the station lives in, and whether any damp is getting in, long before it matters.
- Its radio's noise floor, packets heard and packets passed along, recorded every ten minutes and kept for 90 days, so you can see what your site hears day and night.
Built to live outdoors
- Printed in ASA, which holds up in the sun. A gasket-sealed lid on brass threaded inserts, sealed cable and antenna fittings, every opening facing down, a breather vent and a sun roof.
- An outdoor antenna on a sealed bulkhead fitting.
- Our own Lookout has lived up a live oak on our test site since October 13.

- The lid is white, which keeps it cooler in the sun, and the Magic Mesh mark on it is in the lettering colour you pick.

The same radio reads the open Meshtastic channel and sends on it too. One radio, not one for each network.
Our own network
Magic Mesh radios talk to each other on a network of their own. Where one has Wi-Fi, Magic Mesh Global carries it on to every other Magic Mesh place, so family in another state reads it in Magic PTT.

For a Lookout that should not look like radio gear: two windows and a perch on the lid, so up in a tree it passes for a bird house. Choose it instead of the Magic Mesh lid when you order.
A tree, a pole or a tower
Two mount saddles and heavy 175 lb rated UV cable ties hold it to a pole or a tower leg; tabs at the top and bottom take a rope or a strap for a tree. Higher is better: every few feet above the rooftops and the trees reaches further.
